She was to become a lawyer, but since she remembered she dreamed of doing art. Her love for photography began when dad gave her his camera and she’s had a bug of creating beautiful images even since.
After studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań / PL and at the acclaimed Filmschool in Łodz / PL, Jola Skóra realized her first exhibition entitled Redheads. This series of photographs took first place at the International Photography Awards 2010 (IPA2010) in the Fine Art: Portrait category.
She started working as a photographer by doing fashion and beauty photoshoots, she also made a lot of graphic design projects, but interiors and design have always been her passion. Since 2012, Jola has been doing an interior photographs published in titles such as Elle Decoration, Weranda, Maisons de Campagne, Cose di Casa and Ideal Home. She also makes commercial projects and develops creative concepts for such brands as Carrefour, Castorama, Electrolux and Pepco.
In 2014, Jola Skóra founded a JAM KOLEKTYW design and creative agency specializing in comprehensive home & living projects. She co-leads it with the interior designer and stylist Anna Olga Chmielewska.
Jola says that her work is about translating ideas to images. She combines a vivid imagination, fine art background with a desire for practical solutions. Jola loves the beauty of natural light.
