And as every year, Many Spanish and international companies will attend it with a lot of new collections. We interviewed Clara Vicedo from ASCER, the Spanish Ceramic Tile Manifactures’ Association, and here’s what she told us about Cevisama 2020.

Names and events not to be missed at Cevisama 2020?

More than 100 companies will present all their innovations in the ceramic sector, for kitchen and bathroom, and for all types of surfaces, like walls and floors. On Tuesday the 4th of February Tile of Spain-ASCER will hold a press conference, during which all the main product innovations and design trends will be presented. Do not miss the Architecture Forum with exceptional guests, such as the Danish architect Bjarke Ingels and two Pritzker awards: the American Thom Mayne and the Catalan studio RCR Arquitectes. And, in the TransHitos exhibition space, the exhibition with the theme “Identity”.

What will we see in this 2020 edition?

This year the Cevisama visitors will find collections for all tastes, from large formats to smaller elements and tiles, marble and stone finishes together with terrazzo tiles. And, of course, the ceramics that reproduce the wood pattern, which surprises every year with new colours and details. At Cevisama fair you will see technical tiles, giant sheets and monochromatic surfaces mixed with the more traditional pieces and irregular finishes, so requested by millennials and fashion stores.

Will we see emerging talents?

At Cevisama we give more and more space to young people and their creativity. Inside Transhitos space, for example, you will see the projects of the students of the ceramic school promoted by ASCER. And The “Pop” project, winner of the competition organized by CEVISAMA, by the young architect Belén Ilarri, who will show the possibility of creating an environmental effect by using the tile as a base. It will look like a cube-shaped space, that highlights and enhances the qualities of ceramic. Last but not least, inside the CEVISAMALab content program, will be awarded the best project in the ceramic made by students of any national or international school of Design, Fine Arts, Architecture and Engineering.

Will we see many Italian ceramic companies to Cevisama?

The Cevisama fair every year records a constantly increasing of number of exhibiting companies and visitors. And on the international scene, the number of Italian ceramic companies that participate at Cevisama is constantly growing. It’s a sign that this trade fair event is becoming increasingly important for the Italian market, which wants to export its products and its know-how abroad.

Any preview of the trends we will see at the fair?

Dramatic interior, with a predominance of dark and navy blue colours for elegant and impactful interiors; Soft Heritage with warm colours that reinterpret the most classic motifs with pastel shades. Then there is the Savage Soul trend, which rides the green wave with motifs that reproduce nature-inspired patterns, and Plug & Play that mixes small-scale graphic designs with intense and vivid colours.
